The Allow & block sub-menu is used to configure allowed sites, and blocked sites and apps.

Select the Allowed Sites or Blocked Sites tab, and then use the "Add Sites" button to add new sites to either the block list or the allow list.

To add multiple URLs, add each URL on a new line. When adding multiple URLs at once, any content entered in the Notes field will be added to each URL entry.

To block apps on Windows and Mac student devices, go to the Blocked Apps tab, and then use the "Add Apps" button to add new apps to block. An OS icon will indicate which platform(s) the app applies to.

Allowed URLs

These sites will be allowed during class sessions even when teachers are using Site Lock, which would otherwise block all sites except the ones selected for the lock. Use this to enter resources that should always be accessible.

Blocked URLs

Sites that are set as blocked will be blocked at all times, both during class sessions and outside of class sessions.

This feature is not intended to be used as a full web filter, but it is meant to complement an existing web filter. Do not attempt to load in a list of thousands of sites. Instead, this area should be used for odds and ends sites that might not be otherwise set to be blocked by your main web filter.

Note

The block list supports blocking of full domains, as well as blocking of full URL paths. This means that you can block a specific page or path of website without blocking the entire website. For example, you can block all YouTube Shorts content without blocking the rest of YouTube by adding youtube.com/shorts to the list.

Blocked Apps

Apps that are added here will be blocked at all times, both during class sessions and outside of class sessions. However, teachers can temporarily allow the apps if they add the app in an Allow type access plan.
