To install apps on devices, assign the app to a school, group, class, or individual device. When an app is assigned, Securly MDM will send an installation command to the appropriate devices. Each time a device syncs with Securly MDM, an inventory of installed apps is retrieved from the device and compared to the list of apps that are assigned to be installed. If an app is missing, the installation command will be sent.
To assign apps, select one or more apps from the iOS/iPadOS apps list or mac app list, then click the Assign & Apply button.
Choose the tab based on the type of assignment you wish to make: schools, groups, classes, ASM classes, or devices.
Each tab has a search box and a filter to limit the list to a specific school. Use the checkboxes to choose where to assign apps.
Select “force install” to cause apps to automatically install on devices. Choose “self-service install” to cause the app to appear in the Securly Locker app where the user of the device will have options for installing or uninstalling the app on demand.
Click Assign to make the assignment. The command to start installation for apps configured for force install will be sent immediately. You can track progress of installation from the Status area from the main menu.
