This section covers some of the required setup tasks for configuring Securly MDM. Keep in mind that some tasks are accomplished on the devices themselves, while other tasks are accomplished through the administrative interface.
The following areas should be configured to use Securly MDM:
- Set up the schools list. Refer to the Managing Schools section of this guide.
- Set up users and assign access rights to schools. Users can belong to the following roles: Organization Administrators, School Administrators, Technicians, and Teachers. Users can be entered manually, or imported into the system. Refer to the Managing Users section of this guide.
- Set up permissions for each user role in your organization. Permissions determine which features users in each role can access in Securly MDM. Refer to the Users section of this guide.
- Create device groups into which devices will be enrolled and assign access rights to each group. Refer to the Managing Device Groups section of this guide.
- Set up APNS.
- Set up Automated Device Enrollment.
- Set up ASM Apps & Books
- Set default restrictions.
- Enroll devices into Securly MDM. Refer to the Managing Devices section of this guide.
- Assign teachers rights to manage device groups.
