Article summary

Teacher Tools offers classroom management features. Teachers can manage iOS devices in the classroom either by group or by class.

To choose devices to manage in Teacher Tools, use can choose a device group or a class. Note that teachers will only see classes for which they are assigned to.

The selection box will show all device groups and internal classes that the user has permissions to see. It will also show all ASM classes. The search box can be used to help locate a class or group quickly. Since
all ASM classes are shown, it can be helpful to type the first few letters of the instructor's name to limit the list to only that instructor's classes.

Information for each iPad will be displayed: Name, Battery Level, Charging Status, and the date and time of the last device sync.

Functions can be performed on one or more devices by clicking to select the device(s), then using the appropriate button (Screen lock, App lock, etc.). You can also perform a function on a single iPad by right-clicking on the iPad image for a pop-up menu of functions: Screen lock, App lock, Web lock, AirPlay, Stop AirPlay, and Clear passcode.

If an iPad is not in Supervised mode, it will appear with a warning symbol. Hovering over the device will display a message to let you know that Screen Lock, App Lock, and Site Lock will not be available for the
device.
