Lost Chrome Device Recovery

Once Lost Mode has been activated for a device, it will appear on the Lost Chrome Device Recovery tab under the Devices menu with the status "Lost".
This menu allows you to investigate and recover any devices that have been placed in Lost Mode.
Lost Device Details
Click on any device from the Lost Chrome Device Recovery list to view the Lost Mode details for the device.
In the leftmost column, you can rename the device or edit Lost Mode options. for more information on these options, see the article Setting Defaults for Lost Mode.
In the text field at the bottom of the Lost Mode Options section, you can enter custom Lost Mode text, or use the default Lost Mode text.
Lost Device Location
In the middle column, you'll see the last known location of the device on a map, as well as a list of previously known locations since Lost Mode was activated. The list will show one line for each time a significant change in IP address and/or location occurred.

In the rightmost column, you can see screenshots taken from the device, along with a time and date stamp for each. Click on a screenshot to view it larger.
What happens to devices in Lost Mode?
- Once Lost Mode is activated (through the Classroom's Devices menu or by moving the device to the lost devices OU) it will appear in the Lost Chrome Device Recovery tab with the status "Lost".
- Once a device has been located, you can deactivate Lost Mode. For more on this topic, see Deactivating Lost Mode.
- If a device is moved out of the lost devices OU in Google Admin, it will continue to be listed in the Lost Chrome Device Recovery tab, but its status will change to "Found".
- To manually remove a device from that table, select it and and click Remove. If the device is still in the Lost OU and running the Lost Mode kiosk, the next time the device connects to the server, the device will once again appear in the table as Lost.
