- If you choose the barcode or the magnetic scanner, you can also set up Kiosk passcodes as a secondary login method in case students do not have their IDs.
- Even if your school is 1:1, you may find a need for the Kiosk in places like the Cafeteria, Gym, Art Room, or Chemistry Labs where the student devices should be used on a limited basis. If you choose to use Kiosk only in limited locations, you will still need to address the Kiosk passcode protocol. if it is simply on a limited basis that students are not allowed to use their devices, the teacher could also issue a Teacher Pass.
- If your school chooses to run entirely on Kiosks, please be aware that students may not see or be made aware of their Appointment Passes. (Email notifications can be enabled to be sent to the student, but they would not see appointments from a Pass menu or receive in-app notifications.) The school can still take advantage of the Appointment Pass functionality, but there will be a greater responsibility on the teacher’s part to monitor and notify students when they have an appointment.
- If your teachers move from room to room during the day, discuss this with your Project Manager to determine the best protocol.
Remember:
Kiosk Passcodes are case-sensitive. If your student ID makes use of capital letters (ST-48319, for example) and you are using student ID numbers as the students’ Kiosk passcodes, your students will need to utilize capital letters when entering their Kiosk passcodes.
