In Securly MDM, devices are enrolled into a device group. The device groups should already be created prior to enrollment. When using Automated Device Enrollment (recommended) be sure to complete the configuration settings in the Configuring Automated Device Enrollment section prior to enrolling devices. These are found on the Device Group Details tab from the Devices menu.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Set device name to name of assigned user | When enabled this setting will automatically change the device name to the name of the assigned user when used in conjunction with the “Prompt to assign user on Locker 1st run” setting. |
Prompt for device name on Locker 1st run | When enabled, this setting will prompt the user to change the device name the first time the Securly Locker app is run after enrollment. This setting cannot be used at the same time as “Set device name to name of assigned user”. |
Prompt to assign user on Locker 1st run | This setting provides a convenient way to assign a student to an iPad by simply opening the Securly Locker app on the device and selecting the student from a list. When enabled, the Locker app will prompt to assign the user the first time it is run following device enrollment. Additional details are provided in the section Assigning Users to Devices. |
