Once you have linked Securly MDM to Apple School Manager by entering the Server Token from ASM, you can configure the enrollment settings. Settings can be configured independently for iOS/iPadOS, macOS, and tvOS by choosing the appropriate tab.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Default group | Devices enrolled into Securly MDM are enrolled into a device group. Every device must belong to a device group and can only belong to one. Choose the device group where you wish for new devices to be placed from the “Default group” setting. You may change this setting at any time so that any devices enrolling after the change will get automatically enrolled into the newly selected device group. |
Setup assistant options | During device setup of a new Apple device, a setup assistant prompts the user for various choices over a series of steps. To allow for faster enrollment, each of these settings can be skipped. Choose any of the options that you want to be prompted for during setup, or leave them all blank for touch-free enrollment. |
Additional options for Mac
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Prompt user to create an account | If this box is checked, the device will prompt the user to create a local account as part of the setup process. If you want the user's account to be a standard user on the Mac, you will also need to provide credentials for an administrator account, as each device is required to have one. You can choose whether that admin account will show up in the "Users and Groups" menu for the user or if it's hidden. |
Create managed Mac administrator account | Use this option to automatically create an administrator account on the device. When selected, enter the Full Name, Account Name, and Password for the admin account to be created. With this option you can also choose whether you want the admin account to be shown in Users & Groups on the Mac or hidden. |
